During pregnancy I did not seriously consider cloth diapers at all. Too much work, too eco – that was roughly my take. I had no interest in looking into it.

I'm Lara.
Early in my pregnancy I thought cloth diapers were too much work and too eco for me. Once I really looked into them, that changed completely. Today we diaper our daughter in cloth – and for us it was the best decision we could have made.
Why I do this
I want cloth diapers to become visible here – modern, everyday-friendly, and far from the picture most people still have in their heads.

Then I started reading up
And I realized: this had little to do with what I had imagined. Modern cloth diapers look beautiful, wash without much fuss, and come with so many benefits.
At home
Cloth since birth
We have used cloth since birth and practice elimination communication with our daughter. Poos rarely end up in the diaper. So far, no irritation on her bottom.*

What I missed here
After moving in 2025 I looked for what I would have needed myself: cloth diapers to touch and someone who advises in person. Both are still thin on the ground here.
